This is an incredibly high spec instrument with amazing detailed graining to the woods, the neck is a highly flamed maple as is the maple Resonator which also features cream bindings. The neck is a traditional 5 string 22 fret design with a fully bound 22 fret fingerboard with highly detailed scroll position markers and dot markers to the side on the binding..

The Orange Town is easy to adjust with twin coordinating rods to set the perfect neck angle with further adjustment via the adjustable truss rod and it is all kept in tune via the high quality Planetary style geared tuners including the fifth string tuner.

But the best thing about this banjo is the pot assembly which features a Whyte Laydie Tone Ring. This tone ring consists of a round steel hoop held in place by a supa-brass sleeve above a solid scalloped brass ring which is held in place by a beautifully engraved spun-brass tension hoop. The Whyte Laydie is based on a design developed in the late 1800's and is preferred for old-time playing styles. This tone ring sounds warm and produces a rich, mellow staccato sound that is associated with the open back banjo. The rim is maple ply again finished in translucent orange and all the metal work around the banjo head, including the arm rest is engraved in the same pattern as the tension hoop.

The banjo head is a Remo Renaissance that is held in place by 30 heavy duty gold brackets.

The Orange Town plays like a dream with a big resonant tone and great clarity and projection. This as good a banjo as you will find under £1,000 with very high specifications and and stunning looks at a very low price.
